Dealing With a Cold and Bad Cough? Try This ‘Ginger Wrap’ Home Remedy That Works
Once again, the cold weather has arrived and with it snow, windy nights and of course, the dreaded winter cough and chest cold. Bring on the hacking, raw throat and sleepless nights.
If you’re unlucky enough to be the recipient of one of those horrific coughs and, try as you may, can’t shake it, there’s other options instead of the doctor’s office. The doctor’s office will likely prescribe some nasty tasting cough syrup. The ingredients sometimes have side effects, including: headaches, allergic reactions and sleeplessness.
There is good news, however, and it’s in the form of an all-natural remedy that seems to be taking care of the much-despised cough and congestion with some great results!
It’s called a “Ginger Wrap” and the ingredients are simple and usually on-hand.
- 1 tablespoon of fresh ginger or ginger powder
- Raw honey
- Olive oil
- Flour
- Napkin
- Adhesive tape
- Gauze
Directions:
Combine the honey & flour. Add in some olive oil and ginger. Mix it together. Then put a small of the mixture on a napkin. Wrap gauze around it and tape it to the chest using adhesive tape.
It’s advised that for a child to apply it 3 hours before bedtime. Adults can keep it on overnight, but because it contains ginger, you will sweat more. Ginger wrap has been tried and has worked within four hours. And the best part… no side effects! For those with sensitive skin, please make sure it’s prepared carefully.
